Groovy Birthday Cake

Maggie loves owls. I have no idea how it got started, other than we bought her a stuffed owl one day...and it's just grown from that. Now, our house is inundated with owls :)
It was time to pick a theme for Maggie's birthday and she originally told me that she wanted a Toy Story 3 cake, with owls and Wow Wow Wubbzy on it. Ha!
I took her to Party City to pick out whatever plates/napkins she wanted and she picked out Toy Story...until she saw this one.

So, owls it would be!  I searched online to try and find an owl cake that I might be able to do. HA! Forget about it.  Well, in my search, I found this amazing cake that had an owl on it. I clicked on it and fell in love. Once I saw it, I knew that I couldn't just get a cake from HEB and I looked all over the place to try and find someone who could make one like this - but the prices were unbelievable and/or no one had the availability to do it....except for the actual cake artist herself....who just happened to live 5 minutes from me!  (when I googled for owl cakes and her's popped up, I didn't even think that she would actually be in our area!)

With 4 days notice, Jessica was able to design the cake to match the napkin pattern perfectly. It seriously was the most incredible cake I've ever seen!

I hated to cut into it, but sure was glad that we did. It was the best cake I've ever eaten. I will not hesitate to have her bake cakes for us in the future....of course, after this one, I can't go back to a grocery store cake, now, can I ?!

It truly was one of the highlights of the party.  Maggie was blown away by it.

Only the best for our sweet girl.
